Neapolitan Slippers

I gave that name to these slippers because of the color. While I was knitting, the pink, brown & white (though it's really beige) color reminded me of the chocolate, strawberry and vanilla ice cream flavor called Neapolitan. Not that I've had it in many years. Knit with the same pattern as the previous slippers. They have already been delivered and are in use.

"Snuggles Pet Bed"

Knit from 3 strands of lightweight acrylic with stripes of Lion Brand Homespun. Pattern from snugglesproject.org. Very sturdy, should make some pet warm & cozy. Until then, I'll fill it with balls of yarn.

first FO of 2008

That's first finished object (FO) in knitterspeak. Another pair of slippers. Yep, the Man Booties were wearing out fast. These are made with two strands of yarn, felted of course. Wool is Paton's Classic from my stash (yea!) Pattern is Fiber Trends, with an I-cord bind off instead of a cuff. They were fast and easy to make. Barbara's been complaining of cold feet, maybe I'll make her a pair.

Too Cute to Give Away

An ornament for a knitter's tree. I made this mini felted knitting bag to decorate a tree that was going to be raffled off, but I liked it too much to give away. The bag is knit with sport weight wool felted to 2" x 3" after one trip in the washer. The knitting needles are toothpicks with a bead on the end & the yarn is lace weight wound in mini hanks.

Glass Slipper Sweater

I took it to Thanksgiving where it was tried on by several women, so if you fit it - you get it.
The pattern is "Bold and Bulky Mini Cardi" from Stephanie Japel's Fitted Knits. I have been obsessed by the patterns in this book, though I really don't have a fitted knits body. Her patterns are knitted from the top down with minimal seaming. It was a fun and fast knit. I followed the pattern almost exactly except for the trim on the sleeves where I ran out of yarn.

Man Booties

After one trip around in the front loading washing machine, these shrunk to exactly the right size. Even though the weather here has been quite warm, the slippers have been in use for the last week. They look kinda plain, though.

Bigfeet

OK, this is before felting. They should shrink down to human size. Meant to be house socks. Knit from Patons Classic Wool on 10 1/2 needles.

Happy Halloween!

Knitted witch hat in front of my very tired looking decorations. I'll be wearing it tonight for the annual neighborhood BBQ. Should keep me warm, though.

Knit from a free pattern from Maggie's Rags. The scariest thing is that I used Vanna's new acrylic yarn.

Sidetracked

Instead of sewing up a gnome, I started a new project. This pattern is called Mr. Greenjeans from Knitty. Does anyone really remember who Mr. Greenjeans was? A long sleeve cardigan knit from the top down in the round so no seams to sew (yea!). It looks like I may finish it. Made from stash yarn, a wool/cotton blend called Kureopatora from Germany.
More tiny blankets for Michele. The one on the left is diagonal knit at 15" square and the one on the right, a feather and fan pattern, is smaller at about 14" square.
